Archiving Eden: Exchange

  • Thursday, Sep 19th, 2024 to Sunday, Nov 17th, 2024

Experience Archiving Eden: Exchange by Dornith Doherty, a captivating outdoor installation that invites visitors to become part of an evolving artwork. At the heart of this project is a 12-foot square structure with transparent walls, adorned with 5.000 colorful X-ray images of California's native wildflower seeds.

The interactive exhibit encourages visitors to select a seed image and exchange it for a glassine bag containing a real native seed, generously provided by the Theodore Payne Foundation for Wildflowers and Native Plants. As more people participate, the installation transforms, creating a living seed bank that reflects our collective commitment to preserving California's natural heritage.
